Directing our steps through God’s vision

The vision for Starting with Jesus (SWJ) is to make John 17:21 a reality for myself and for anyone who happens to stumble on this blog.

May they also be one in Us

John 17:21

Every time I am confused or uncertain regarding SWJ, I always assess whether I am in alignment with what is written in the passage above,

  • Am I helping readers ( myself included) build an intimate relationship with God?
  • Will people recognise Jesus and know him as their saviour?
  • Am I accurately presenting the tri-unity relationship?
  • Whose Glory am I displaying on this blog?

Therefore, everything I try and do on this blog must ultimately be for the purpose of John 17:21, as such I am always having to check myself and make sure there aren’t any underlying ‘ulterior motives’  (1 Thessalonians 2:5) to skew me away from the vision. Without this vision, I would be walking blind not only with SWJ but with everything.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he”.

Proverbs 29:18

Having a vision helps to keep you on the narrow path

Without a vision, or revelational knowledge from God it is easy for us to be misdirected and skew from the narrow path that leads to life (Matthew 7:14).

“If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed”(MSG).

(Proverbs 29:18 MSG)

We shall head into the New Year with 20|20 vision and clarity, no longer walking blind!

Prayer for 2020

“And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very centre and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people) ( Ephesians 1:18

Just as Elisha’s servant’s eyes were opened to see God’s army covering the mountains all around him, may we too see God moving in our midsts, may we too have the revelational vision and not be distracted from the path ahead. Amen

Welcome to 2020!
