He has arrived

Hi thank you for joining us on the Fall For Christ Series, if you would like to receive a FREE PDF copy of the entire series as well as other notes please email Starting With Jesus before the 20th February 2019 with the subject line #FFCF and you should hopefully receive the online #FFCF pack sometime in March.

It has been a tiring process, but I can not believe we are already on day 11. This series has really blessed me and I have learnt so much within the last week and I thank you all for forgiving my many spelling and grammatical errors. I pray that one day I (we) might have a glimpse to understand the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as One and be able to explain Him to others, but for now, I am satisfied in knowing that they love us so dearly and have established a place in us so that we may be part of their unity. Amen

I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you

John 14:18

John dedicates chapters 14-16 purely to one long private sermon Jesus gave to His disciples whilst reclining at supper ( this sermon has come to be known as the last supper). In these chapters, you truly come to understand Jesus’ purpose here on Earth and how inseparable He is from the Father as we have previously discussed. Since His time on Earth was nearing the end, Jesus did something quite important, something that has ultimately defined our faith; He introduced ‘The Holy Spirit’.

We find that the old testament reveals God the Father to us, and we come to understand God through the image of a Father who so loves His children, but also within the Old Testament, the Father tells us of His Son though His son had not yet revealed Himself on Earth. Now, that Christ’s earthly ministry was ending soon, did Jesus now formerly introduce another person like Him as the Father had done before, this person he introduced was the Holy Spirit. However, in the book of John He is revealed to us as the Counselor (John 14: 17 &26), our guide and teacher ‘who will teach [us] all things and remind [us] of everything I have told you’ (Verse 26). In the same manner that the Father, Son is one so is the Holy Spirit one with the Father and Son.

If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him’

John 14:23

The Holy Spirit He is the living breath of God in operation, He is the manifestation of God’s presence, He loves Jesus so dearly and so intimately because Jesus opened the gates ( curtain) of the tabernacle) and let Him dwell within us and embrace us so openly. In the Old Testament, He (The Holy Spirit) when spoken about was described to be upon people but was not dwelling within peoples hearts. Without Christ dying, the Holy Spirit had little access to our hearts, but now He is reigning here on Earth and operating such wonders within peoples hearts. As he is Spirit, He has direct access to the Father, for ‘He is the Spirit of truth’ (John 14:17), and because of verse 6 within the same chapter we can understand Him to be the Spirit of Jesus who is the truth (14:6) and it is only through the truth, through Jesus can we have access to the Father. He gives us direct access and teaches us all things concerning Jesus Christ and the Father.

When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth… He will also declare to you what is to come. He will glorify Me [Christ], because He will take from what is Mine and declare it to you’

John 16:12-14

I would love to explain to you more about Him, but my understanding of Him and the Trinity is limited despite having spoken about Him in the previous posts. All I know is that He has been the author of this series and not I, He has been the one teaching me topics that I have honestly not heard about, that I have had to go back to on numerous occasions within the last couple of days. When I lacked motivation He has been the one giving me strength. I give Him all glory, honour and praise for He was the one who revealed Jesus to me.
